An update on a January audition Sally Travers attended, wrote BackStage about and I blogged. Jackie Apodaca clarifies her response, pointing out that there is a difference between having a bad attitude and choosing not to do something (from backstage.com).

Slow-Cooked Success: The idea that success is not a sudden event, and career longevity is not assured by any single flurry of activity. Sounding vaguely like the tortise and the hare, John Taylor seems to suggest that slow and steady can accomplish more than short-term extreme effort. Though he's writing about musicians, I think it applies to actors as well.

Everyone Gets Criticism:
To the King’s Theatre, where we saw Midsummer’s Night’s dream, which I had never seen before, nor shall ever again, for it is the most insipid ridiculous play that ever I saw in my life

For Now, Casters Won't Strike:
The nation's casting directors should decide sometime in the next three months whether they will affiliate with the International Brotherhood of Teamsters. That decision, in turn, will determine whether the casters - through the Teamsters union - will then negotiate a first-time bargaining agreement with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP).
The Teamsters and the AMPTP, at a meeting last week in Los Angeles, agreed that the casting directors could hold an election conducted through the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB)
(from backstage.com).
