Short Films Selling Online

More people than Pixar are now making money with shorts online.
Creators of short films (40 minutes or less) have finally found an audience through such online sites as iTunes, Revver.com and San Francisco's Frameline Films and Caachi.com, which specializes in distributing independent films. And those sites are even starting to bring a revenue trickle to older shorts that audiences are unearthing online
(from SF Gate). I've made money with Revver. There are some YouTube partners with whom Google shares the ad revenue from made from views of the partner's videos. Perhaps the shorts we've all done will come out of the woodwork and go online.

Plotbot

Plotbot is a website for writing screenplays in your browser.
With Plobot, you can create private screenplays to work alone or with invited friends, or you can create public screenplays to find new friends. All changes are tracked to each writer, and you can revert to prior versions at any time.
I haven't tried it yet, but it might be a way to collaborate without being in the same room (maybe while on the phone perhaps).

Mirror Exercise

Most actors do a mirroring exercise at some point, but this video is the best example I've ever seen. Brilliant focus.

NBC moving to Universal City

On September 10, 2007, NBC Universal management alerted its employees that the company planned to end its 56-year relationship with Burbank, California and sell much of the 34-acre Burbank complex. NBC Universal will relocate its vast television and cable operations to the Universal City complex. The new facilities - part of an $800 million skyline-altering development expected to be completed in 2011 - will be located adjacent to the Universal City Red Line subway station and feature an environmentally friendly West Coast news headquarters
(from Wikipedia's Universal City entry). The Burbank Leader and KNBC also covered the story.
