Playwright Wendy Wasserstein Has Died

Wendy Wasserstein, who spoke for a generation of smart, driven but sometimes unsatisfied women in a series of popular plays that included the long-running Pulitzer Prize winner The Heidi Chronicles, died today after a bout with lymphoma, Lincoln Center Theater announced. She was 55

International Sketch Comedy Championship

The 2006 International Sketch Comedy Championship is seeking sketch comedy groups to enter. It is $30 to submit a tape of your group's performance for consideration. The top 12 groups will be invited to compete live on stage in Los Angeles in front of industry judges. The winning group will get a representation contract for their troupe, as well as other prizes.
A portion of proceeds from this event will be donated to charity. The live competition and performances will occur on March 30 & 31, and April 1, 2006. The early deadline to enter is coming up shortly!
